Eastern European(!),

It’s not so surprising once you delve down into the Caucasus. Many of them folks down there, especially in places like Dagestan, have Turkish or Azeri blood and can look quite dark.

A small comment on this post is that everyone, regardless of how they look, could pass as a Brazilian.

Reminds me of an anecdote I’m afraid:

One of the first people I met when I went (long before you were born) to university in Liverpool (which I thought was about as far north as you could go without falling off the world) looked Chinese. So, being well brought up, I spoke to him slowly, carefully and a little louder than was my wont. He replied in scouse (so I went to talk to a chap from Carlisle who thought that Liverpool was about as far south as you could go without falling off the world).

Now if only I could remember that time my iron exploded…
