Brilliant Physics Lesson

The beardy-weirdy teacher in this Metacafe video is probably a cinder now, having expired when his garage exploded during his attempt to stage a one-fiftieth-scale re-enactment of the Hindenburg disaster, but I do recommend that you visit the film on the end of that link. It has to have been one of his finest moments, combining as it does fire, plastic, flammable gas, and Dave Brubeck.

That is sooo pretty Geek it almost makes me want to take A Level Physics again. Flames instead of maths! Can one do a PhD in that?

The inestimable seekers of scientific truth in the television programme Mythbusters essayed an attempt to nail the various “theories” about the causes of the Hindenburg disaster. They used a minature version, built with the correct materials. There were a lot of flames, but no sheds.

PS: I see the word “shed” has conjured up George S!
