So the government keep cancelling our MOT appointments because they don't have the workers to keep them, then refuse to sell us vehicle tax because we don't have valid MOT certificates, then tell us that it's illegal to drive without tax, <i>no exceptions</i>. After about six months of this crap, they finally relented and started giving out temporary tax exemptions. Until that point, though, their official line was "Some of our workers are striking, therefore you <i>will not</i> drive your car."
