Preposterous, of course. But I think Ms. Duyser is laughing all the way to the bank….who said you can’t beat Vegas?
Irony or no, it’s absolutely magnificent, isn’t it? Can we get someone to run naked onto a British golf course with Crooked Timber tattooed onto their back, do you think?
I think the irony gap between the UK and U.S. is not a matter of ‘capacity for’ but ‘style of’ and ‘subconsciously exchanged cultural cues within’.
But what amazes me is that the Blessed Virgin Mother looked so much like Marlena Dietrich.
I think the sandwich looks a bit more like Mary Pickford. She’s a wee bit more beatific than Dietrich.
According to a completely surreal letter in The Telegraph, she looks like Carol Decker of T’Pau. (Despite her complete lack of musical credibility, I have to say that I think Ms Decker is one of the smartest and funniest women ever to stand at a microphone in front of a collection of poodle perms.)
